Why participating in outplacement training is a good option
The change security legislation supplemented on 1 January 2023 improves the position of people aged over 55 in situations of change. The new expanded change security includes a transition security allowance, longer employment leave and more extensive outplacement training. The value of the training is equal to two months’ salary and it is a tax-free benefit.

You are eligible for expanded change security and outplacement training for people aged over 55, if:
- your employment has ended for production-related or financial reasons on or after 1 January 2023
- you have turned 55 by the termination date of your employment relationship
- your employment relationship has lasted continuously at the same company for at least 5 years

How do I get access to outplacement training?
Register as a jobseeker at the TE Services within 60 days of the termination of your employment. Remember to request from the TE Services a decision regarding your outplacement training.

What is change security and what does it entail?
Expanded change security consists of a change security allowance equivalent to one month's salary and outplacement training equivalent to two months' salary. The content of the outplacement training taken through Sarasen is always planned together with a Sarasen expert. In addition, the person is entitled to an extended employment leave of 5, 15 or 25 days.
Outplacement training is training that increases professional skills or supports business activities, which promotes the rapid re-employment of a dismissed person. The training must primarily meet the goals and wishes of the dismissed person. Participation in change safety training is voluntary for the dismissed employee.
How much does the outplacement training cost?
Outplacement training is free of charge for you. Education is a tax-free benefit. Migration security allowance is applied for from Kela or the unemployment fund.
How long is the outplacement training?
The duration of outplacement training is a maximum of six months. The final schedule and training package is always determined individually.
To start the outplacement training, please remember to register as a job seeker with TE services within 60 days of your termination date. At the same time, also ask TE services for a decision regarding your change security training.
